Meet Your Instructor

I’m Dr. Luke Hobson. I'm an Assistant Director of Instructional Design, a Lecturer, the author of What I Wish I Knew Before Becoming an Instructional Designer, and the Instructor for Instructional Design Institute. I was named as one of the top learning influencers in 2022 and top e-learning experts in 2023. I started my career in higher education in 2013 and I've never left!

I believe that effective learning stems from personalized feedback that empowers students to grow and succeed. By tailoring my approach to individual needs, I strive to create a supportive environment where students can develop real-world skills. My goal is to bridge the gap between theory and practice, ensuring students leave with tangible abilities that enrich their lives and contribute to their success in meaningful, practical ways.

What I care about the most is creating meaningful and relevant learning experiences and providing every opportunity for my students.

On a personal note, I’m a husband, dad, musician, podcaster, and a health and fitness nut.
